Dear visitor:
The Rotary Club of Lake Chelan has provides members of the Lake Chelan community to fulfill individual and corporate needs to ‘serve’ others. Rotary service is provided through projects developed within our club or by supporting non-Rotary organizations aligned with our service goals and service objectives. The collective vision, mission, and objectives of a Rotary club are ‘charitable’ in nature. Rotary is not a charity rather it is a service club. The Rotary Club of Lake Chelan, chartered 1926, invites you to consider being a part of our local Rotary community.
The moto of Rotary is ‘Service above Self’ and is supported by this year’s theme, “Rotary Opens Opportunities” which is particularly well timed due to the globally shared constraints resulting from the 2020 pandemic and global civil unrest. Rotary has historically risen above such constraints and barriers to entry to deliver on its mission to improve the lives of people, for example, Rotary has successfully entered ‘hot zones’ with polio vaccinations where nation states could not… resulting in saved lives. While few Rotary projects rise to the level of ‘saving lives’, many do rise to the level of improving quality of life. Please browse through the pages of this website to familiarize yourself with the breadth and depth of service opportunities/areas that membership in the Rotary Club of Lake Chelan can provide.
Rotary’s Areas of Focus are the themes by which the Rotary Club of Lake Chelan develops its local and global mission for health, purpose, and improved quality of life. At the heart of each member of Lake Chelan Rotary is a passion to engage in ‘community’. ‘Community’ is defined differently, person to person, but has a common denominator…. We are “People of Action”!
Rotary Causes
20210417 GG Unexpected ConsequenceThe work of Rotary begins in the community, and every community has its own unique needs and concerns. While we serve in countless ways, we’ve focused our efforts on seven Causes to maximize our impact. These Causes encompass some of the world’s most critical and widespread humanitarian needs, and we have a proven record of success in addressing them:
- Promoting Peace
- Fighting Disease
- Providing Clean Water, Sanitation, & Hygiene
- Saving Mothers & Children
- Supporting Education
- Growing Local Economies
- Protecting the Environment
Each Cause has its own webpage. Identify your specific Cause and go to its page to see what Lake Chelan Rotary is doing both locally and internationally. This is you opportunity to get involved.
