Kisiriri Primary School is a rural school located in Narok County, Kenya approximately four hours due west of Nairobi.

The school has 648 students in grades 1 through 8.  School rooms are in very poor condition, toilet facilities are dilapidated and dangerous and clean water not easily available.

This is the story of how the Rotary Clubs of Lake Chelan, WA USA; Milimani, Nairobi, Kenya; and Cooloman, NSW, Australia are together addressing some of the many outstanding problems at Kisiriri Primary School.

The project will transform classrooms, provide the school with new toilets and access to clean water for drinking and basic hygiene.  In addition, student desks, books and teaching supplies will be provided.

A Community Assessment Report was completed by the Rotary Club of Milimani, after consultation with the school’s Board of Management, school staff and community leaders.  This report was completed on September 17, 2017.

The objective of the project is to create an environment that helps students obtain a good education and improved literacy.  It is expected that the school standing in national rankings will improve and that overall literacy will increase.
